The Big Event

One of the most exciting parts of the X2F program is what we call the Big Event. This is our grand finale, our end to every season, and we want to make sure you know what it’s all about…

Who is the Big Event for?
Every team that has participated in Xcel 2 Fitness of the current season in your local area. This is a chance for all X2F teams to gather together in one place to celebrate being Dream Chasers. This is for families of the boys participating as well as friends and anyone who wants to come out. Everyone is invited! Only X2F teams will get to run the course, but there are plenty of opportunities beyond the course for everyone to have a great time.
What is at the Big Event?
An obstacle course for X2F teams to complete. The friendly competition is to get through it in the fastest time. All teams will get to challenge the course twice. The course is age-appropriate for all 3rd-5th graders. It is not a “hard core” mud run like a Spartan Race or Tough Mudder. That is not appropriate for our boys, but the course will be challenging, fun, and safe. Games and challenges will be set up outside the course for everyone to participate in. From fun yard-style games like cornhole (beanbag toss) and ladder golf, to challenges related to our curriculum, everyone can have fun and compete to get the best score or the fastest time. Community vendors will come out to support the Big Event. They will have giveaways and fun activities for the family to connect with. Concessions will be available in case you need a drink or something to snack on. You will need to purchase any concessions, but know that all proceeds X2F receives go toward funding scholarships for boys in the program. Raffles will be available. We’ll offer some exciting items that you can buy raffle tickets for your chance to win. There will be some great items to win that you won’t want to miss. Again, all proceeds go toward funding scholarships.
What does the Big Event cost?
The Big Event is free! There is no cost to anyone. The only exceptions are if you choose to buy concessions or participate in a raffle, and all those proceeds go toward funding scholarships for your area.
What do you need to bring?
You’ll want to bring chairs to sit in to view teams running the course. We encourage all our boys to wear their X2F shirt and bandana. Dress appropriately for the weather. The event will still take place in rain and in general as long as weather conditions safely allow it.
When will my team run the course?
Each team will run the course twice. You’ll be notified of both starting times for your team once you arrive. For all Big Events the schedule is for the first team’s starting time to be about 15 to 30 minutes after the start time of the Big Event. So if the event is from 10:00-12:00, the first team would start the course sometime between 10:15 and 10:30.
